Consumption of Alcohol

The Bible has not explicitly pronounced the consumption of alcohol as a sin.

However, as Victory Christian Fellowship Church, while we do not condemn those who take alcohol, we do not encourage our members to do so due the following reasons (References: Genesis 9:20-27; Genesis 19:30-38; Esther 1:9-22; Leviticus 10:8-11; Proverbs 20:1; Proverbs 23:29-35; Proverbs 31:4,5)

1. The destructive power of alcohol.
2. The consumption of alcohol impairs judgement.
3. The consumption of alcohol inflames passions.
4. The consumption of alcohol invites violence.

Our ministers are specifically advised to avoid drinking alcohol and all other forms of drug abuse that would impair the ability of God’s servant to carry out his/her sacerdotal duties or cause an appearance of evil.
